Shy or brave – what is the shyness of highly sensitive children all about ?

This question is often asked by parents of highly sensitive children, as they notice both extremes in their behavior. There are situations in which the child shows great shyness, stresses about going to the birthday party or joining the game. At the same time, they notice that during this birthday or play, when they “open up”, they can be very active and even take on the role of a leader and run the game. Thus, the question arises – is it possible for the same child to be once shy and at other times bold?

When they feel safe, they have fun in play in an unrestrained way, giving the impression of being bold and self-confident.
